"Quanti?"

Denise talks about parenthood and tells us of the questions she usually get asked around her choice. Denise has been living in Turkey for 25 years and she claims her right to choose not to have children.

DENISE: «Hello, my name is Denise, I am Italo-Turkish, and I live in Istanbul. I am a lunàdiga because I never wanted children. In Turkey, this is a very hard choice, because one of the first questions asked is always: "Don't you want children?" "How many?" "Why not?" I never wanted children, honestly I never really thought about it.
I thought about myself, selfishly, about my life. I never felt free to take my own decision. People say I take in cats and dogs because I don't have children. But that's not the case at all! I never felt having children as a necessity. Never! They are not necessary to feel human.»
